Downtown El Paso is experiencing a huge period of growth and renovation. Millions of private and public investment dollars are going into projects that will improve the quality of life for people working and living in Downtown El Paso.
The Brights Skies initiative is a movement to re-light historic signs in Downtown El Paso. Progressors are working closely with the El Paso Downtown Management District, The City of El Paso and other entities, NPO’s and investors, to ensure the preservation of these historic signs that will beautify the Downtown skyline.
Our initial goal is to bring back and light five notable monument signs: the Martin Lofts, the Plaza Hotel, the Blue Flame Building, Bassett Tower, and American Furniture. Committee members are completing signage inventory, reaching out to building owners, and facilitating applications for the many facade improvement grants available to building owners.
